Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The second-seeded men's lacrosse team will host third-seeded Frostburg State University for the Semifinal round of the East Coast Conference Championship tomorrow (Apr. 30) at 4:00 p.m. from the Rockville Centre Sports Complex.
 
 
About the Lions

• Molloy has won a program-record 13 games to date, including going a program-best 5-1 in league play. The team has spent nearly the entire season ranked among the top 20 in Division II by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, climbing to as high as 14.
• As a team, the Lions lead the conference in nearly every statistical category and rank in the top-10 in Division II in ground balls (2^nd) man-down defense (2^nd), scoring defense (3^rd), scoring margin (5^th), caused turnovers per game (6^th), ground balls per game (6^th), points (6^th), assists (8^th), scoring offense (9^th), clearing percentage (10^th), and face-off win percentage (10^th).
• A focal point of the team's success at defense has been senior goalkeeper Christian Michaels. The goalie currently leads Division II with a .654 save percentage and is averaging over 10 saves per game to go with a 6.38 goals-against average. Long stick midfielder Thomas Kofod and defender Aiden Dinnigan both rank in the top-30 in the nation in caused turnovers per game. The duo paired with defender Liam Taylor and long stick midfielder Jaden McLeod are all averaging over one caused turnover a game.
• On the offensive side of the ball, senior attacker Luke Hickam ranks fifth in the ECC in points per game, sixth in assists per game, and ninth in goals per game. He is supported by midfielders Brian Green and Bryan Diliberto, each having topped 40 points this season, as well as attacker Jake Taylor who has a shot percentage of nearly 50 percent.

 
Playoff History

• Molloy will be playing for the East Coast Conference Championship for the fifth-straight season.
• The team is looking to continue making history, hosting a tournament game for the first time in program-history.
• The Lions are looking to win the program's first-ever ECC Tournament game in the 20^th anniversary of the squad's Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference title.

 
Concerning Frostburg

• The Bobcats closed the regular season with a record of 7-8 overall and 4-2 in ECC competition.
• This is Frostburg's fourth-straight appearance in the ECC Tournament after joining the league in 2020. The team has advanced to the Championship Game in each of the previous three seasons.
• The team leads the ECC in ground balls per game at nearly 43 per contest. Face-off specialist Alex Walstrum leads the team, averaging nearly six ground balls per game. The senior is a critical piece of the game plan, ranking second in Division II in face-off percentage at .756.
• The Bobcats have the ninth-best scoring defense in Division II behind goalkeeper Logan Covey. Covey has a 7.43 goals-against average and ranks second in the nation behind Michaels at a .635 save percentage.
• The offense is run through attacker Wesley Phillips, who tops the team with 50 points on 21 goals and 29 assists. Midfielder Luke Roach is the team's scoring leader at 29 goals.

 
Series History

• The Lions took the most recent contest between the two programs just under a month ago, winning 7-6 from Frostburg. Green scored twice for Molloy while Diliberto had a goal and an assist. Michaels made what was a then season-high 14 saves in the effort. Roach and attacker Luke Aspnes each scored twice for the Bobcats while Covey made 18 stops in the loss.
• The teams have met six times in total, with four contests going in favor of Frostburg.
• Molloy, who has not lost at home yet in 2025, will look to pick up the first-ever home victory against FSU.

• The winner of this contest will go on to play in the East Coast Conference Championship Game on Saturday (May 3). They will face the winner of #1 Mercy and #4 Roberts Wesleyan at the site of the highest remaining seed.
