Hickam, Moussa Selected Player of the Week

The East Coast Conference released its weekly awards with seniors Luke Hickam and Natalie Moussa being dubbed the Player of the Week for their respective sports. In addition, Molloy had an additional four student-athletes named to the Weekly Honor Roll for their performances on the week.

Hickam led the #17 Lions with 11 points in a 2-0 week to keep Molloy undefeated in league play. The senior scored six goals, including two within eight seconds of one another, and added five assists on the week. He tallied six points on four goals and two helpers against St. Thomas Aquinas before adding another two goals and three helpers against the University of the District of Columbia. The attacker also picked up four ground balls and forced a turnover on the week. This is the senior's second Player of teh Week nod.

He was joined by junior Shawn McCabe, who earned a spot on the league's Weekly Honor Roll. McCabe, who has been a backbone for the Molloy defense all season, helped the team to allow only seven goals in the two games. The junior picked up four ground balls in both of the Lions' wins and added a total of three caused turnovers. He also netted his first collegiate point with an assist against STAC.

On the softball diamond, Moussa went 2-0 in the circle with a 2.80 earned run average while hitting .304 with seven hits, including two doubles and two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs scored. The senior launched a three-run home run in a 9-1 win against Queens while also tossing a complete game without allowing an earned run. Against Bridgeport, the pitcher lef the offense with a 2-for-3 performance with a two-run home run. In a doubleheader against Staten Island, she combined for a 4-for-8 day at the plate with two doubles and a RBI, tossing one complete game in the circle with two strikeouts. This is Moussa's second Player of the Week and third overall weekly award from the league.

Teammate Stevie Dabbadie was named to the Weekly Honor Roll. The sophomore went 2-2 in the circle this week with a 1.83 ERA, one shutout, and nine strikeouts while allowing just six earned runs. She recorded her second complete-game shutout of the season and third of her career against Queens. Dabbadie followed that performance with six strikeouts over six innings of work against Bridgeport and added two more in her appearance against Staten Island.

Seniors Megan Rugolo and Sabrina Spezia were both named to the Weekly Honor Roll of their respective sports. Rugolo matched a season-high eight points on five goals and three assists in the six-straight win for the women's lacrosse team. In the contest, she also added four ground balls, caused two turnovers, and added a draw control. Spezia set two records at the Rider Invitational as part of the outdoor track and field team. She ran a new Molloy record of 4:46.70 in the 1500-meter, finishing seventh in the field of 35. She then was one quarter of the 4x800-meter relay team that set a record of 9:57.82, finishing in second-place overall and first among collegiate level participants.
