Staten Island, N.Y. - The indoor track and field team continued its trend, setting at least one program-record at every meet so far this season. At the Big Apple Invite, the final meet before the East Coast Conference Championship, senior
Megan Sohl and junior
Kathleen Healy each set new record times.
Sohl ran the 1000-meter race in a time of 3:01.54, .08 seconds faster than the previous record time set in 2019 by Emily Martino. Healy, who set new record in the 5000-meter each of the previous two meets, added a record time in the 3000-meter with a third-place time of 10:28.37. Her time was .20 seconds faster than the record set by teammate
Sabrina Spezia earlier this season.
The women's team also saw highlight performances from:
- Freshman Sophia Hines in the long jump (5.28 meters)
- Freshman Lexi Martoscia in the 200-meter (27.35)
- Freshman Kamryn Drakes in the 60-meter (8.65) and the 200-meter (28.51)
- Sophomore Jules Vega in the 200-meter (29.77)Â
On the men's side, senior
Luke Jarski finished in second-place overall in the 800-meter with a time of 1:56.18. The team also saw personal-bests from:
Both squads will return to action on Sunday (Feb. 16) at the East Coast Conference Championship. The event is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. from the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Complex on Staten Island, N.Y.
