Washington, D.C. – The Molloy men's soccer team concluded its regular season Saturday afternoon drawing with the Firebirds of the University of the District of Columbia, 1-1, in the nation's capital. The Lions finish the regular season slate 3-6-7 overall and 2-1-5 in East Coast Conference play while the Firebirds sit at 8-3-4 overall and 3-2-3 in league play.
 
As a result of today's draw and other results from around the East Coast Conference, Molloy will enter the conference tournament as the number six seed.
 
How it Happened
	- 3:05 into the contest, UDC found the back of the net after Ignacio Lopez scored to get the Firebirds on the board, 1-0.
 
	- The game would settle into a possession battle as neither team would register a shot until the 24th minute where junior Aidan Kolbe sent a shot wide.
 
	- 1:40 later, Lopez looked to extend the Firebird lead, but sophomore goalkeeper Callum Hunt made the save.
 
	- Molloy's first shot on goal came from graduate student Danu Kinsella Bishop in the 33rd minute, but the attempt was denied by UDC goalkeeper Sergio Becerra.
 
	- With 17 seconds to play in the opening stanza, Firebirds forward Axel Gamez looked for a tally of his own, but Hunt came away with a save to send the contest into halftime with the Lions behind, 1-0.
 
	- In the first 90 seconds of the second half, Kolbe sought after the games tying goal firing a shot that would be saved.
 
	- The contest would revert to a back-and-forth possession game over the next 15 minutes as neither team could tally a shot.
 
	- In the 63rd minute, sophomore Charlie Morgan sent in a short free kick and found Kinsella Bishop who blasted it into the back of the net to bring the game back to all square, 1-1.
 
	- Seven minutes later, junior Eduardo Marroquin created a scoring chance that would be saved.
 
	- 13 seconds after Marroquin's attempt, the Firebirds responded for a chance to break the deadlock, but Hunt stood strong in goal to make the save.
 
	- The cardinal and white collected five shots for the remainder of the contest, but none would land on goal.
 
	- UDC had one final chance to steal the contest with three seconds to play. After winning a corner kick, Firebirds Alexander Moody-Stuart headed a shot on target, but Hunt made one final save to secure the 1-1 draw.
 
Top Performances
	- Kinsella Bishop netted his 13th goal of the season while leading the squad with five shots with two coming on goal.
 
	- Morgan registered his fourth assist of the campaign.
 
	- In goal, Hunt made a season-high six saves.
