Rockville Centre, N.Y. – Needing three points to solidify themselves in the ECC Tournament, the Molloy men's soccer team came away with a 3-1 victory over the Saints of D'Youville Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. As a result, the Lions clinch a playoff spot in the ECC tournament, improving to 3-5-6 overall and 2-1-4 in East Coast Conference play, while the Saints move to 4-8-2 overall and 2-4-1 in league play.
Prior to the start of the contest, the program celebrated its members of the senior class:

How it Happened
- The opening 12 minutes saw the teams go through a feeling out period with neither side recording a shot.
- In the 14th minute, Kinsella Bishop recorded the contests first shot on goal that was saved by D'Youville goalkeeper Matthew Solorio.
- Molloy continued its offensive pressure 10 minutes later when junior Wilmer Flores fired a shot that would be saved.
- The Lions cracked the scoreboard in the 28th minute. Kinsella Bishop played a back heel pass to sophomore Brennan Murphy who fired a shot that would get deflected into the back of the net to put Molloy ahead, 1-0.
- The cardinal and white held the Saints to two shots with none on goal in the opening stanza, sending the contest into halftime with Molloy in front, 1-0.
- Defense and physical play kicked off the second half as neither team mustered a shot in the first 15 minutes.
- The first shot of the second stanza came from the home team in the 61st minute. Kinsella Bishop settled a pass from graduate student Sean Fitzgerald, created space and fired a shot that snuck past the Saints goalkeeper to extend the lead, 2-0.
- In the 68th minute, the Saints threated with a long ranging shot that would hit off the crossbar.
- Two minutes later, sophomore Callum Hunt was challenged with a shot that pull him off his line to make a save.
- The 78th minute saw D'Youville earn a penalty kick after a foul inside the 18-yard box. Shawn Richardson of the Saints stepped to the dot and buried the goal into the right side to shrink the deficit to one, 2-1.
- The road team sought after the game-tying goal four minutes later, but Hunt would corral the save.
- Molloy would put the game away in the 87th minute, after junior Aidan Kolbe finished off a feed from sophomore Charlie Morgan to reclaim the two-goal lead, 3-1, where it would stay and clinch the victory for the home team.

- Murphy netted his second goal of the season.
- Kinsella Bishop notched his 12th of the campaign and now has tallied 24 points.
- Fitzgerald and Morgan tallied assists.
- In goal, Hunt made two saves.
