How it Happened
  • The contest would be tied 10 times before the host Knights led, 19-16.
  • Molloy responded by taking the next five points that saw two kills from sophomore Isabella Rios and one from senior Teresa Moulder to lead, 21-19.
  • Back-to-back points from Queens would knot the score for the 12th time in the set, but back-to-back kills from Rios and junior Erin Stanley paired with an ace from graduate student Julia Zalta brought the Lions to set point. Queens would come within one, but Rios added her fifth kill of the set to clinch it for the visitors.
  • The teams would trade points once again to start the second set before a four-point swing put Molloy in front, 7-3. Freshman Haven Trechter had two kills to go with one from senior Ilaria Micol Chiericati and an ace from junior Hayden Riddle.
  • Queens would come within two on three occasions, but were unable to bridge the gap.
  • A four-point run would set the Lions ahead in the final set, giving the squad a 12-8 lead.
  • The Knights threatened late, but Molloy dominated the final nine-straight points to win 25-13.
