Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The volleyball team solidified a spot in the East Coast Conference Tournament with a 3-0 sweep over Daemen University this afternoon from Bob Houlihan Court. The win sets Molloy at 14-7 on the season and 7-1 in East Coast Conference play while Daemen drops to 9-12 (5-3 ECC) in the loss.

How it Happened
- After the visitors took a 3-0 lead to open in the contest, Molloy roared to life with a 11-1 rally with aces from graduate student Julia Zalta and sophomore Isabella Rios and blocks from senior Teresa Moulder and junior Erin Stanley.
- The Wildcats would come within five on multiple occasions, but the deficit held through to give the first set to the Lions.
- The second set started on more even footing. Although Molloy maintained an advantage from start to close, Daemen was able to keep it within two throughout the first 10 points. From there, however, the Lions strung together a four-point rally to lead, 10-4. Daemen would come within three, but the set ultimately went in favor of the home team once again.
- The Wildcats struck first in the third set and maintained a lead though the opening 17 points. Molloy responded with a run of three aces from senior Ilaria Micol Chiericati and kills from both Rios and Moulder to lead, 13-9.
- Daemen would tie the contest at 14 but kills from Rios and Stanley helped the Lions regain a 17-14 advantage.
- Twice the visitors would threaten to tie the contest again, coming within one point, but the match would end following a 7-1 rally to give Molloy the win.
Top Performances
- Zalta led the Lions with 10 kills and added 11 assists to go with six digs, two blocks, and two aces.
- Rios' nine kills followed and she topped the team with 10 digs.
- Freshman Haven Trechter had six kills while Stanley and Moulder both added five.
- Junior Hayden Riddle led with 16 assists.
- Moulder and Stanley each added three blocks.
- Chiericati led with three aces.

The Lions will take to Bob Houlihan Court for the final time in the regular season tomorrow (Nov. 2) against D'Youville University. First serve is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. following a pre-game ceremony to recognize the team's members of the senior class.
