Hunt, Salgueiro Lead Men’s Soccer Past Saint Anselm

Manchester, N.H. – A penalty kick goal in the 53rd minute from senior Sean Salgueiro was all the Molloy men's soccer team needed to top the Hawks of Saint Anselm, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Melucci Field. The Lions improve to 1-1 on the season, while the Hawks move to 0-1. Head Coach Chris Megaloudis picks up his first career victory at the helm of the program.

  • The senior made the most of his opportunity as he found the back of the net to give the Lions a 1-0 lead and the first goal of the 2024 campaign.
  • The Hawks compiled two shots in a 32 second span in the 59th minute, but neither shot threated the net as one was blocked and the other sailed high.
  • Nine minutes later with the home team searching for the equalizer, Hunt came up big again making another save to keep the Lions in front.
  • In the final 22 minutes, Hunt would be tested one last time and the freshman would not disappoint making one last save to clinch the victory for the Lions, 1-0.
