How it Happened
- Making his first collegiate start, freshman Callum Hunt was tested in the first five minutes of the contest, collecting his first save to keep the game without a score.
- Five minutes later, Hunt would make his second shot on target and deny the opponent again to settle into the contest.
- Molloy's first chance came in the 14th minute when Salgueiro looked for a chance to score but had his shot blocked.
- 50 seconds later, Saint Anselm looked to take the lead challenging Hunt again, but the freshman would stand strong and make another save.
- The home team would fire an additional two shots on target in the first half and both would be saved by Hunt to keep them off the scoreboard.
- The Lions final chance of the opening half would come in the 32nd minute as sophomore Steph Maurice created space for a shot, but his attempt was saved. The contest remained scoreless heading into halftime.
- The cardinal and white generated the first chance of the second stanza, when senior Connor Gervasi found space but missed high of target three minutes in.
- Molloy broke through in in the 53rd minute following a yellow card, Salgueiro was awarded a penalty kick.
- The senior made the most of his opportunity as he found the back of the net to give the Lions a 1-0 lead and the first goal of the 2024 campaign.
- The Hawks compiled two shots in a 32 second span in the 59th minute, but neither shot threated the net as one was blocked and the other sailed high.
- Nine minutes later with the home team searching for the equalizer, Hunt came up big again making another save to keep the Lions in front.
- In the final 22 minutes, Hunt would be tested one last time and the freshman would not disappoint making one last save to clinch the victory for the Lions, 1-0.

- Salgueiro netted his first goal of the season while totaling three shots.
- Junior Matt Star, Gervasi, and Maurice added a shot each.
- In goal, Hunt made seven saves and collected his first collegiate shutout.
