Rochester, N.Y. - Led by a career-high 28 kills from graduate student
Kiarra Roth, the volleyball team kicked off East Coast Conference play with a 3-1 victory over Roberts Wesleyan University. Molloy improved to 9-4 on the season while the Redhawks fell to 8-4.

How it Happened
- After alternating points to start the contest, the Lions put together a four-point run on kills from Roth and junior Teresa Moulder paired with an ace from junior Aria Miller to lead, 6-3.
- Trailing 10-8, RWU responded with a four-point run to regain the lead.
- Molloy immediately responded by winning the next nine points, featuring two kills and three blocks from Roth and two blocks from senior Sara Hiebert, leading 19-12.
- The Lions would give up just three more points before taking the set .
- The Redhawks tallied just seven kills in the second set, helping Molloy lead from start to finish.
- With the score tied at six in the third set, Roberts Wesleyan took 11 of the following 15 points to lead, 17-10. The Lions would come within five, but were unable to complete the sweep.
- Six of Molloy's first 10 points in the fourth set came on kills from Roth, helping the visitors to a 10-4 lead.
- Roberts Wesleyan would come within four on multiple occasions, including 22-18, but kills from freshman Isabella Rios and senior Roberta Monticelli paired with an ace from senior Angelina Scichilone earned the final three points of the contest for Molloy.
- Roth attacked at a .353 clip on the afternoon, adding six digs, six blocks, and three assists to her 27 kills on the afternoon.
- Moulder and Rios each tallied eight kills with Monticelli adding five.
- Rios tallied 12 digs for a double-double.
- Miller led with 21 digs and added five assists.
- Senior Julia Zalta had 38 assists to go with eight digs, two blocks, and two aces.
- Scichilone led with three aces.
- Hiebert put up six blocks.
