Rockville Centre, N.Y. - After a challenging first set, the volleyball team responded to take a 3-2 victory over the University of New Haven this evening from Bob Houlihan Gymnasium. Molloy, who won its fourth-straight game, improved to 10-4 on the campaign while the Chargers fell to 7-7.

How it Happened
- The Lions struggled out of the gate, attacking at a negative percentage in the first set.
- In the second set, Molloy rallied back to a 10-3 lead that featured two kills from junior Ilaria Michol Chiericati, one each from freshman Isabella Rios and junior Roberta Monticelli, a block from junior Teresa Moulder, and an ace from Rios.
- The home team maintained the advantage, putting up 17 kills in the set, including three-straight from graduate student Kiarra Roth to close the set.
- Three runs from the Chargers helped propel the visitors to victory in the third set.
- The teams alternated points in the fourth set, but an 11-4 run from the Lions put the squad in front, 15-10. Rios and Roth each tallied two kills, with junior Sara Hiebert adding three blocks and a kill.
- UNH would come within one, 20-19, but four kills from Rios down the stretch gave Molloy the set victory and forced a deciding set.
- The momentum remained with the home team in the final set, leading 7-4 midway though with kills from Roth, Moulder, and Monticelli. The visitors would come within one twice, including as late as 12-11, but two of Molloy's final three points came off the hands of Roth to seal the victory.
- Roth topped the team with 18 kills, adding 12 digs for a double-double to go with two blocks.
- Rios tallied 14 kills and 11 digs for a double-double-double of her own.
- Monticelli had a season-high 10 kills and added two blocks and three digs.
- Senior Julia Zalta just missed a double-double with a career-high 52 assists to go with nine digs and a team-leading three aces.
- Junior Aria Miller recorded 20 digs and added two assists and an ace.
- Senior Alex Brown had nine digs to go with two aces.
- Hiebert added three blocks.
