Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The volleyball team opened the weekend with a 3-0 sweep of the Saints of D'Youville University this afternoon from Bob Houlihan Gymnasium. Molloy picked up its fifth-straight victory, improving to 11-4 on the season and 2-0 in East Coast Conference play. D'Youville sits at 5-10 (2-1 ECC) after the loss.

How it Happened
- Molloy opened the contest with a five-point run with kills from graduate student Kiarra Roth as well as Roberta Monticelli and Sara Hiebert to leave 6-2.
- The Saints would chip away at the lead, eventually tying the score at 23.
- A service error paired with a kill from senior Rebecca Meier secured the final two points for the Lions to go ahead 1-0.
- The score would be tied six times in the second set before five-straight points from the Lions put the home team in front, 17-13. Monticelli had two kills paired with one each from senior Julia Zalta and junior Teresa Moulder.
- Molloy maintained its advantage through the remainder of the set, seeing kills from Meier, Zalta, Roth, and Hiebert.
- A kill from Roth paired with back-to-back aces from Meier put the cardinal and white ahead, 5-2, in the third set. The Saints would come within two on multiple occasions, but were unable to overcome the early deficit.
Top Performances
- Roth led with 14 kills and nine digs while adding two aces, two blocks, and an assist.
- Hiebert followed with nine kills and topped the team with five blocks.
- Monticelli tallied eight kills to go with three digs and two blocks.
