Volleyball Sweeps Post; Goes 3-1 in Opening Weekend at Home

Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The volleyball team concluded the weekend with a split of a doubleheader against Post University and Assumption University. The Lions swept the Eagles of Post in three sets before dropping a heart-breaker to the Greyhounds of Assumption, 3-2. Molloy sits at 6-2 at the end of the second week of play.

Prior to the contest, the Department of Athletics unveiled the newly-named Bob Houlihan Gymnasium in recognition of a nearly 40 year career of service to Molloy as a coach, Director of Athletics, and Vice President of Student Affairs. Among his many accomplishments, Houlihan served as a source of guidance and mentorship for countless numbers of Molloy students and was responsible for the inception of men's sports at the institution.
