Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's soccer team stepped out of East Coast Conference play in a mid-week match up with the Golden Falcons of Felician University, falling by a score of 4-0. Molloy sits at 4-5-1 on the season following the loss while Felician improved to 7-2-1 with the victory.
How it Happened
- The visitors got on the board early, taking advantage of a turnover from the Molloy defense in the 13th minute as Tim Jaeger sent a pass across the box to Hugo Rodriguez to give Felician the 1-0 advantage.
- Rodriguez would help on the next goal, sending a ball to Ayato Kaneto, whose touch set up a goal from Shuntaro Moritimoto to make it 2-0 just 32 minutes in.
- The Lions had a header shot from Santi Vasquez blocked in the lone attempt of the opening half.
- Felician opened the second half with a flurry of shots to test freshman keeper Callum Hunt. The goalie would made one save before Moritimoto tallied his second goal of the afternoon to make it 3-0.
- The visitors rounded out the scoring in the 68th minute as the ball hit off Molloy's center back and into the net for an own goal.
- Vasquez, Eduardo da Rosa Sostisso, Mathew Broadhead, and John Stavropoulos each recorded a shot for the Lions.
- Hunt made three saves in the second half. John Takach got the start and made two saves.
