Uniondale, N.Y. - The sprint football team fell to the Cougars of Caldwell University, 48-0, this evening from Mitchel Field. Molloy fell to 0-3 on the season while the Cougars improved to 1-1.
How it Happened
- After back-to-back three-and-outs to open the contest, the Cougars cracked the scoreboard with just under nine minutes remaining in the first quarter following a nine yard rushing touchdown from Josh Smith. The score sat at 7-0 following the extra point from Nicolas Mallon.
- Caldwell tacked on two more scores, including returning a blocked punt for a touchdown, in the final two minutes of the opening quarter to lead, 20-0.
- The visitors tallied three rushing touchdowns and three extra points in the second quarter, leading 41-0 at the halftime break.
- The third quarter was scoreless before Caldwell scored a final rushing touchdown and extra point to round out the score.
