Sprint Football Blanked at UPenn

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Molloy sprint football team returned from the bye week with a 49-0 loss at the University of Pennsylvania this evening from Franklin Field. Molloy sits at 0-4 on the season while UPenn improves to 4-0.

How it Happened
  • The Quakers were quick to score with Tom Rebstock finding the end zone in the first 45 seconds of the contest.
  • UPenn would score in its next possession with a 23 yard touchdown pass to Jason Sheairs before recovering an on-side kick to allow Rebstock his second touchdown of the evening, setting the score at 21-0.
  • The home team would score once more in the opening 15 minutes of play with a 27-yard rushing touchdown for JT Goodman.
  • Rebstock added two rushing touchdowns in the second quarter to help the Quakers to a 42-0 lead at the half.
  • The Lions had two possessions in the third quarter, but were unable to come away with any points. However, the Molloy defense stopped the Quakers in the home team's lone possession of the quarter.
  • UPenn rounded out the scoring with a final rushing touchdown from Ben Lu to make it 49-0.
  • Junior quarterback Paulie Drummond V went 6-for-11 on the evening for seven yards. 
  • Freshman David DiGiovanni led the run game with 11 yards while freshman D'Angelo Cabrera had one reception for four yards.
  • Freshman Marquis Dixon led all players with 12 total tackles, including five solo.
  • Freshman Peter von Schoenermarck had four solo and four assisted tackles while freshman Alex Missing recorded five assisted tackles and two solo stops.
