Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The second half of East Coast Conference play began on a low note this evening for the volleyball team, falling in three sets to Queens College. The loss sets Molloy at 12-9 on the season and 3-4 in league play while Queens improves to 16-6 (6-1 ECC).

How it Happened
- The Knights went right to work, opening up the contest on a 12-2 run.
- Molloy refused to go down without a fight and responded with a seven-point streak of its own to come within three, 12-9.
- The Lions continued to chip away, eventually coming within one, 14-13, following kills from freshman Isabella Rios and junior Teresa Moulder.
- Queens would score the next six points , putting the set out of reach for the Lions.
- The home team was forced to play from behind again to start the second set, trailing 8-3 before clawing back with a five-point run to knot the score.
- The Knights took five of the next six points and maintained the lead through the end of the second set.
- Both teams exchanged points in the third set and the score was tied on six occasions in the first 18 total points.
- The visitors would score six points and lead 15-9 before taking the set and the match.
Top Performances
- Rios led the Lions with 10 kills while adding seven digs.
- Graduate student Kiarra Roth tallied nine kills while freshman Frankie Kelleher had three.
- Senior Alex Brown topped the team with 10 digs and added an ace.
- Senior Julia Zalta had 24 assists and added five digs.
