Farmingdale, N.Y. - The 2023 cross country season began at the annual Adelphi Panthers XC Invitational at the Bethpage Park Polo Field. The men's team tallied 99 points for fourth-place of the field of 14 while the women's team had 153 points for fifth-place of the field of 13.

Top Performances

• On the women's side, freshman Kathleen Healy topped the Lions with a 19th-place 5K time of 20:41.90. 
• Junior Megan Sohl and freshman Olivia Russo finished back-to-back in 28th and 29th-place, respectively with times of 21.09.90 and 21:17.00. 
• For the men's team, junior Eric Palencia clocked in with a personal-best time of 26:29.70 in the 8K, finishing the race eighth overall.
• Freshman Peter Bagattine debuted to a 12th-place time of 26:43.00.
• Juniors Matt Floyd and Frank Ferrante finished six seconds apart at 21st and 23rd, respectively.
