Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's basketball team concluded the 2022-23 regular season this afternoon, falling to the Saint Thomas Aquinas College Spartans, 94-70, from Quealy Gymnasium. Molloy ends the regular season with a record of 11-17 overall and 10-6 in East Coast Conference play while STAC improved to 24-4 (15-1 ECC). Prior to the contest, the program recognized its members of the graduating class,
William Muller and
Kendell Ogilvie in a senior day ceremony.
Molloy will have the three-seed in the upcoming ECC Tournament and will await the final standings for their opponent to be determined.Â
How it Happened
- Tied 6-6, the Lions would score eight of the next 11 points to lead, 14-9.Â
- The Spartans scored five unanswered to knot the score with 13 minutes to play in the first half.
- Midway through the opening half, the teams once again found themselves tied, 19-19.Â
- A 6-0 run for the visitors gave STAC a lead that it would not relinquish, ending the half in front, 50-36, before outscoring Molloy 44-34 in the second half.Â

- Senior William Muller led Molloy with 23 points and 11 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season while adding two steals.
- Redshirt junior Kendell Ogilvie added 16 points and five rebounds while dishing out two assists.
- Sophomore Darren Fergus tallied 10 points, a team-leading eight assists, and seven rebounds.Â
- Sophomore Kenny Lazo had seven assists and two steals.Â
