Worcester, Mass. - The men's basketball team stepped out of league play, falling to the Greyhounds of Assumption University this evening, 68-54. Molloy sits at 1-10 while Assumption improves to 5-5.

How it Happened

• Graduate student Bobby Connors netted the first points for Molloy with two jump shots and a free throw for a 5-4 lead.
• From there, the Greyhounds were off to the races, putting up a 19-5 run that included four three-pointers and brought the score to 23-10 with just under nine minutes to go in the first half
• A late six-point run would help Molloy come within seven, 25-18, but the home team would take a double digit lead into the halftime break.
• The Lions would cut the deficit to as few as five points, 51-46, with 7:51 on the clock, but another 17-point run from Assumption clinched them the victory.

Top Performances

• Connors led with 18 points, shooting 8-of-10, while pulling down five boards.
• Rosemond also reached double digits with 13 points and five rebounds.
• Freshman Saba Beroshvili set a career-high 10 points to go with two assists and three rebounds.
• Junior Matt Lane with seven rebounds while junior Mick Browne led with three assists.
