Rochester, N.Y. - The first half of East Coast Conference volleyball play ended in a nail-biting five set match at the Voller Athletic Center with the Lions suffering a 3-2 loss to the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University. Molloy sits at 7-10 on the season and an even 3-3 in league play with the loss while Roberts Wesleyan improved to 5-9 (2-3 ECC).

How it Happened
- The Lions struggled in the first set, unable to string together more than three consecutive points.
- The second set saw the score tied 15 times, including as late as 23-23. A kill from sophomore Sara Hiebert helped the Lions to the final two points to secure the set win and tie the match.
- Molloy had its most efficient performance in the third set, attacking at a .424 clip.Â
- Tied 8-8, kills from graduate student Mariana Donado Yepes and sophomore Aria Miller paired with a block from seniors Chye Davis and Kiarra Roth put the visitors ahead by three.
- The Redhawks would work the score to within one on two occasions, but a kill from junior Alex Brown ended the set in favor of the Lions.
- Molloy played from behind the majority of the fourth set and was unable to overcome Roberts Wesleyan, forcing a deciding set.
- After five ties, the home team managed to score four-straight points to take a critical 9-5 lead.Â
- The Lions would come within one, 9-8, but a second three-point rally from the Redhawks would give them the cushion needed to finish out the set on top.

- Davis led the cardinal and white with 17 kills while putting up five blocks.
- Roth followed with 15 kills and added six digs and three blocks.
- Brown, Miller, and Hiebert each recorded seven kills.
- Donado Yepes had a double-double with 45 assists and 15 digs while adding two aces and three kills.
- Miller led the team with four aces and had 14 digs.
- Freshman Hope Carolan tallied 11 digs to go with two assists.Â
