How it Happened
  • The Lions struggled in the first set, unable to string together more than three consecutive points.
  • The second set saw the score tied 15 times, including as late as 23-23. A kill from sophomore Sara Hiebert helped the Lions to the final two points to secure the set win and tie the match.
  • Molloy had its most efficient performance in the third set, attacking at a .424 clip.
  • Tied 8-8, kills from graduate student Mariana Donado Yepes and sophomore Aria Miller paired with a block from seniors Chye Davis and Kiarra Roth put the visitors ahead by three.
  • The Redhawks would work the score to within one on two occasions, but a kill from junior Alex Brown ended the set in favor of the Lions.
  • Molloy played from behind the majority of the fourth set and was unable to overcome Roberts Wesleyan, forcing a deciding set.
  • After five ties, the home team managed to score four-straight points to take a critical 9-5 lead.
  • The Lions would come within one, 9-8, but a second three-point rally from the Redhawks would give them the cushion needed to finish out the set on top.
