Branch Brook Park, N.J. - The men's and women's cross country teams had a successful day at the NJIT Highlander XC Challenge, finishing in fourth and seventh-place, respectively.
The men's team had three runners finish in succession with freshman
Peter Bagattine (26:35.9), junior
Aiden Watson (26:35.9) and junior
Matt Floyd (26:38.8) taking 19th through 21st.
Juniors
Frank Ferrante (27:29.4) and
Eric Palencia (27:45.6) both finished within the top 50.
The women's team was paced by a ninth-place showing from freshman
Kathleen Healy, running a 5k time of 19:12.4.
Junior
Megan Sohl placed 18th with a time of 19:45.8 followed by freshman
Olivia Russo in 38th with a time of 20:40.3.
The women's team will return to action in one final meet before the East Coast Conference Championship on Saturday (Oct. 14) at the St. Joseph's Long Island Invitational from Sunken Meadow. The men will return at the ECC Championship from Rochester, N.Y. on Oct. 21.
