Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's soccer team fell to the Knights of Queens College this afternoon from the Rockville Centre Sports Complex, 3-0. Molloy now sits at 3-10-3 on the season and 2-4-1 in East Coast Conference play while the Knights improved to 7-6-2 (4-3 ECC) in the victory.
Prior to the start of the contest, the program celebrated its members of the senior class:
Andy Blanco (biology),
Nicolay Kutzop (finance),

Edwin Castellon (business),
Ryan Dobson (marketing), and
Matt Laya-Vetell (marketing).
How it Happened
- Though the offense struggled to get started through the first 30 minutes of play, graduate student Dennis Mejia made two saves in net to keep the contest scoreless.
- The Knights finally got one past the keeper in the 36th minute, as Harry Cooke scored off a free kick 23 yards out.
- Junior Matt Laya-Vetell would have his shot in the final 90 seconds of the first half blocked, giving the visitors the 1-0 advantage at the break.
- Queens would score in both the 76th and 83rd minute in the second half to take the 3-0 lead.
- The Lions had two shots blocked while forcing Austin Matthews to make two saves in the second half, but were unable to get on the board.
Top Performances
- Senior Andy Blanco and sophomore Matt Star led with two shots with Star and senior Jonas Jacobsen accounting for the team's lone shots on goal.
- Mejia made six stops in net.
