West Haven, Conn. - The volleyball team fell to the Chargers of the University of New Haven, 3-1, this evening from Charger Gymnasium. The loss set Molloy at 7-12 on the season while UNH improved to 13-7 in the win.

How it Happened
- Seniors Kiarra Roth and Chye Davis started the contest off with back-to-back kills for the Lions.
- Sophomore Roberta Monticelli would add three kills to help Molloy to a 7-4 lead.
- UNH would tie the contest at seven. From there, the score would be tied seven more times, including as late as 19-19.
- A kill from sophomore Aria Miller and blocks from Davis and graduate student Mariana Donado Yepes gave the Lions a three-point lead, 22-19.
- Leading 23-20, kills from Roth and Monticelli finished off the first set in favor of the visitors.
- The teams would be tied six times in the second set, but a five-for-seven point swing in favor of the Chargers gave the home team a 22-19 advantage.Â
- Molloy would come within one twice, but the second set would go in favor of New Haven.
- UNH opened the third set on a 13-4 run. The Lions' offense struggled to get going, falling 25-12.
- The cardinal and white would take a 6-1 lead in the fourth set on kills from Roth, Monticelli, and sophomore Sara Hiebert as well as an ace from junior Rebecca Meier.
- The Chargers worked the score back to an even 8-8 before eventually taking an 11-9 lead.
- Back-to-back Molloy points would knot the score, but the visitors would only be able to score five points through the remainder of the match in the loss.
Top Performances
- Roth led all players with 19 kills while adding four assists and seven digs.
- Monticelli joined her in double digits with 14 kills and two blocks.
- Davis had six kills while Hievert tallied four to go with two blocks.
- Donado Yepes put up a double-double with 29 assists and 15 digs.
- Junior Angelina Scichilone led with 20 digs and added five assists.
- Junior Julia Zalta reached double digit assists with 15.
- Miller and junior Alex Brown rounded out defensively, combining for 17 digs.
