Rockville Centre, N.Y. – Following two goals in the final 10 minutes, the Molloy men's soccer team drew with the Golden Falcons of Felician University, 2-2, Tuesday evening at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions moved to 1-1-3, while the Golden Falcons moved to 2-1-1.
How it Happened
- Molloy created the first chance of the contest, a shot from freshman Devon Seneca was saved by Felician goalkeeper Uche Santschi in the 13th minute.
- Six minutes later, the Golden Falcons found the back of the net first with a goal from Alex Ramos to put them ahead, 1-0.
- The away team who outshot the Lions 7-3 in the first half, netted their second goal of the contest with under five minutes remaining in the stanza. Felician held a two-goal lead, 2-0, heading into halftime.
- Felician had the first two shots of the second half, one was blocked by the Lions defense, and the other hit the post keeping the game at 2-0.
- Molloy answered with an opportunity of their own set of opportunities. Junior Jonas Jacobsen blasted a shot that hit the crossbar and freshman Adam Lesniewski sent a header high over the bar in the 62nd minute.
- The Lions stayed on the prowl in the 67th minute, a pair of chances from junior Danny Muir had the offense gaining momentum of the contest.
- In the 80th minute, sophomore Gio Fabiano found the back of the net following a pass from Lesniewski. Molloy trailed, 2-1, with under 10 minutes remaining.
- In the 87th minute, Muir received a pass down the right side, crossed it into the box, and found sophomore Sean Salgueiro who finished to bring the game all square, 2-2.
- Molloy was able to generate one final push, but was called for offsides, ending the contest in a 2-2 draw.
