Springfield, Mass. - The volleyball team fell to American International College (9-1) and St. Anselm College (8-4) this afternoon in the final day of the International Volleyball Hall of Fame Division II East Region Clash, hosted by AIC at Henry A. Butova Gymnasium. The Lions sit at 5-6 on the season after the weekend.

How it Happened
- The host Yellow Jackets jumped out to an 11-2 lead to start the first set.
- Molloy put together an 11-3 run to come within two, 18-16. The run featured two aces from freshman Julia Zalta and three kills from freshman Lucy Vazquez.
- AIC ended the first set by scoring the contest's next seven points.
- The home team once again established an early 17-5 lead in the second set that the Lions were unable to overcome.
- The teams had a hard-fought start to the final set, with neither side pulling ahead by more than one point until the Yellow Jackets took 11 of 12 points to lead, 18-9, en route to the match victory.

- Vazquez topped the Lions with seven kills and two blocks. Junior Chye Davis also put up two blocks.
- Zalta recorded 14 assists to go with four digs, two aces, and one kill.
- Freshman Aria Miller tallied 14 digs and four assists.

How it Happened
- After scoring the first three points of the set, the Hawks led the opening set from open to close.
- Down 7-2 early in the second half, a 13-1 run for the Lions gave Molloy a 15-8 lead. Along the way, Zalta and senior Kathleen Doherty each picked up aces while junior Kiarra Roth added two kills.
- Molloy maintained its advantage, scoring the set's final four points that featured a kill from freshman Canyen Rodriguez and blocks from Vazquez and junior Colleen Moulder.
- The game would be tied seven times through the first half of the third set. A string of five-straight points put St. Anselm in front, 16-11, before eventually taking the third set.
- The Lions scored the first three points of the fourth set, but the Hawks tallied the next five to lead, 5-3.
- The score would be tied five times before six-straight points from St. A's gave them a 20-16 lead.
- A kill from Davis and ace from Zalta would bring Molloy within two, but the Hawks closed out the contest by scoring five of the final six points.
Top Performances
- Freshman Kaitlin Jordan led the Lions with 10 kills, three aces and two blocks while adding four digs.
- Doherty, Rodriguez, and Zalta each added two aces with Zalta also chipping in two blocks.
- Rodriguez's stat line also consisted of seven assists, four kills, and two digs. Zalta also added seven assists.
- Vazquez and Roth each tallied six kills.
- Miller had 10 digs to go with four assists and one ace.
