Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy men's soccer team and the Dominican University Chargers played to a 2-2 draw Wednesday evening at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions moved to 1-0-2, while Dominican moved to 0-1-1.
How it Happened
- The Molloy attack pounced quickly on the Chargers backline, firing four shots at the net, but Dominican stood strong to keep the game scoreless in the opening three minutes.
- The Chargers answered midway through the first half, putting two shots on goal, but graduate student Nick Conklu made two saves to keep the game with zeroes on the scoreboard.
- With under a minute to play in the opening stanza, off a corner from junior Jonas Jacobsen, sophomore Gio Fabiano buried a shot into the back of the net to give Molloy a one-goal lead, 1-0, heading into halftime.
- 3:06 into the second stanza, Dominican knotted the contest at one following a goal from Armando Morales.
- The Lions looked to regain their lead in halfway through the half, but Dominican goalkeeper David Arteaga made two saves to keep the contest gridlocked at one with 27 minutes remaining.
- In he 85th minute, after a scramble in the box, the Chargers took the lead, 2-1, with a goal from Lucas Rego Santos.
- 37 seconds later, a throw in from junior Danny Muir, found freshman Adam Lesniewski, who connected with junior Ryan Dobson who tucked a shot into the bottom right-hand corner to bring the game back to all even, 2-2.
- Dominican generated one final chance in the 90th minute, but could not convert, ending the contest, 2-2.

- Dobson collected his second goal of the season.
- Fabiano netted his first goal of the campaign.
- Lesniewski recorded an assist for the second consecutive game.
