West Babylon, N.Y. – The East Coast Conference released its All-Conference selections and major awards for the 2021-2022 Indoor Track and Field season. 12 members of the Molloy men's and women's track and field teams earned All-Conference recognition.
Junior
Kailee Vaseghi (High Jump) and freshman
Juan Arango (200 and 400-meter) earned All-ECC First Team honors. Senior
John Fitzsimmons (800-meter and DMR), juniors
Meaghan O'Callaghan (500-meter) and
Christi Weber (500-meter), sophomore
Gianni Macchio (60-meter), and freshmen
Megan Sohl (1,000-meter),
Faith Rousseau (High Jump),
Schnyder Germain (500-meter),
Aiden Watson (DMR),
Sean Wilde (DMR), and
Matt Floyd (DMR) were named to the Second Team.
Vaseghi earns her second consecutive First-Team selection in the High Jump event. At the ECC Championship, the junior placed second with a leap of 1.55m.
Arango ran to second-place performances in both the 200 and 400-meter dashes, finishing with a time of 22.42 and 50.47 seconds, respectively.
Fitzsimmons crossed the line in 1:59.65 to earn a fourth-place finish at the ECC Championship. The senior also joined Watson, Wilde, and Floyd in the Distance Medley Relay where the team ran a 10:52.80, good for second-place.
O'Callaghan and Weber finished third and fourth in the 500-meter, running times of 1:20.99 and 1:21.43, respectively.
Macchio ran a personal best 7.12 in the 60-meter dash to earn a four-place finish at the ECC Championship.
In the 1,000-meter, Sohl crossed the line in 3:09.01 to place fourth.
Not to be outdone by Vaseghi, Rousseau tied her teammate in the High Jump with a leap of 1.55m.
Germain earned a third-place finish in the 500-meter running a personal best 1:06.23.
