Rockville Centre, N.Y. - Led by career-highs from sophomores

Billy Reyes (17), the men's basketball improved to 3-0 in East Coast Conference play on the season with a 77-69 victory over Roberts Wesleyan University. The Lions sit at 3-7 on the season with the victory while the Redhawks fell to 3-6 (1-1 ECC) in the loss.
How it Happened
- The Lions led by five, 8-3, after five minutes of play following baksets from Fergus, Reyes, and sophomore Mick Browne.
- The visitors would tie the contest, 10-10 with 14:29 remaining in the half before responding with a 12-6 run to lead 22-16 midway through the first half.
- Fueled by nine points from Fergus, Molloy scored 21 of the next 26 to lead by seven headed into the final three minutes of the half.
- The sophomore would score Molloy's final six points of the half to help the Lions to a 43-32 advantage at the break.
- A layup from Fergus and three-pointer from senior William Muller increased the lead to 48-34 to open the second half of action before the Redhawks would work the deficit to just four, 58-54, with 9:46 remaining.
- The home team answered with a nine-point run to regain a double-digit lead, 67-54 with just under five and a half minutes left in the contest.
- Molloy would maintain its double-digit advantage through the final minute of play, but Roberts scored six of the final seven points to come within eight, 77-69, before time expired, keeping the Lions undefeated in league play.
Top Performances
- Fergus netted a career-high 32 points, shooting 10-of-18 from the field and 11-of-19 from the charity stripe. The guard added 12 rebounds for a double-double.
- Reyes netted 7-of-13 from the field for a career-high 17 points to go with five rebounds and two blocks.
- Muller also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while adding six assists.
- Browne (8) and sophomore Kenny Lazo (7) rounded out Molloy's scoring with Lazo adding four assists and Browne leading the team with two steals.
