Orangeburg, N.Y. - The men's basketball team fell to Caldwell University, 102-76, this evening in the Hennessy Center on the campus of Dominican University. The Loss dropped the Lions to 0-4 on the season while the Cougars improved to 1-3.
How it Happened
- The Cougars scored the first five points of the contests before a jumper from freshman Dashaun Warren put the Lions on the board three minutes in.
- Caldwell would quickly go in front by double digits, leaading 23-8 with 13 minutes left to play in the first half.
- An 8-0 run from Molloy over the next four minutes with baskets from Warren, sophomore Mick Browne, and redshirt junior Kendell Ogilvie brought the Lions within seven, 23-16.
- Caldwell regained its lead and was up 49-32 at the break.
- Molloy's shooting improved in the second half, averaging a 43.75 field goal percentage through the final 20 minutes of play, but trailed by 20+ the remainder of the contest.
Top Performances
- Sophomore Darren Fergus led the Lions' scoring with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting while adding five rebounds.
- Warren finished in double digits with 10 points.
- Senior William Muller added 10 points and a game-leading 12 rebounds for his second double-double.
- Sophomore Kenny Lazo dished out four assists with his six points.
