Amherst, N.Y. - The third-seeded volleyball team fell to the top-seeded Wildcats of Daemen University, 3-0, in the East Coast Conference Championship this evening from Lumsden Gymnasium. With the loss, the Lions fell to 16-11 on the season while Daemen improved to 20-5.

How it Happened
- Daemen opened the contest on an 11-2 run.
- Molloy responded with kills from junior Kiarra Roth, sophomore Alex Brown, and freshman Kaitlin Jordan to come within seven, 12-5.
- Daemen would maintain its advantage, attacking at a .500 clip to take the first set, 25-9.
- A kill from Roth and ace from freshman Aria Miller put Molloy in front, 2-0, to start the second set.
- The Wildcats responded with eight of the next nine points to take an 8-3 lead.
- The Lions would tie the contest, 9-9, in a run that featured three-straight aces from Jordan before a kill from Doherty put Molloy in front, 10-9.
- The score would be knotted seven times before kills from Roth and Doherty put Molloy in front, 19-17.
- Daemen would rally to knot the score at 21 before a four-point run brought them to set point.
- Back-to-back kills from freshman Maya Akana would tie the score for a 12th time before Daemen scored the required back-to-back points to secure the set.
- The back-and-forth scoring trend continued into the third set until a 13-5 run from the Wildcats gave them a 16-8 advantage.
- Molloy would come within six, 20-14, but Daemen would score five of the final seven points to earn its second-straight ECC title.
