Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The women's volleyball team defeated the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan College, 3-1, rallying after dropping the first set to improve to 9-8 on the season and 3-2 in East Coast Conference play. RWC fell to 3-13 (1-3 ECC) in the loss.

How it Happened
- Molloy would score seven of the first 11 points of the contest, including a run of three-straight that featured kills from sophomore Julia Zalta and senior Kathleen Doherty and a service ace from freshman Kaitlin Jordan.
- The Redhawks immediately responded with a run of five unanswered points to take a 9-7 lead that they would maintain through the remainder of the first set.
- Neither side was able to establish much of an advantage in the second set until the Lions fired off a run of six points to tak a 17-12 lead.
- Roberts would come within two, 24-22, before junior Kiarra Roth sealed the set victory for the Lions.
- The third set belonged entirely to Molloy,twho held the Redhawks to just six kills and a .051 attack percentage.
- The set opened on a 16-4 run by the cardinal and white and saw 14 kills.
- RWC would score the first two points of the fourth set and maintain the lead until six-straight Molloy points put the home team in front, 15-14.
- From there, the score would be tied five times, including as late as 25-25.
- The next point would go in favor of the Redhawks, but the Lions responded by closing the contest out with three-straight points, including kills from both Doherty and junior Colleen Moulder to secure the victory.
Top Performances
- Doherty, Jordan, and Roth all led with 13 kills with Doherty adding 17 digs for a double-double to go with four assists and one ace.
- Freshman Aria Miller tallied 20 digs and three assists.
- Zalta had 10 assists and two kills while freshman Canyen Rodriguez led with 33 assists to go with seven digs, two blocks, one ace, and one kill.
- Sophomore Rebecca Meier led with three aces while Jordan added two.
- Moulder, Jordan, Rodriguez, and freshman Lucy Vazquez each tallied two blocks with Vazquez also adding eight kills.
