Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The volleyball team concluded its opening weekend tournament with losses to Gannon, 3-0, and American International College, 3-0, to fall to 0-4 on the campaign.

How it Happened
- The maroon and white started out strong, taking a 5-2 lead following kills from freshman Rebecca Meier and sophomores Chye Davis and Colleen Moulder.
- The Golden Knights would eventually knot the score, 8-8.
- Blocks from Moulder and freshman Alex Brown paired with a kill from junior Kathleen Doherty put the Lions in front, 13-11.
- Down 16-14, Gannon rallied for six unanswered points to take a 20-16 lead that Molloy was unable to overcome.
- The second set belonged to the visitors, speeding out to a 22-8 lead before taking the two-set lead over the Lions.
- Doherty and graduate student Emily Meyer tallied kills to help the home team to a 7-5 lead early in the third set.
- The next 14 points went the way of Gannon to help the Golden Knights to the three-set sweep.

- Molloy was paced by seven kills from Doherty with Meier and Brown each adding two.
- Graduate student Kassie Akouri Tejedor led in both assists (14) and digs (12) for her second double-double.
- Doherty and Meyer both added seven digs.
- Moulder put up a career-high four blocks, including two block solos, in the effort.

How it Happened
- Molloy took an early 6-5 lead in the first set before the Yellow Jackets fired off 11 of the next 12 points, including four service aces, to take a 16-7 lead.
- Doherty and Davis recorded back-to-back kills to bring the score within 24-13 before the visitors took the opening set on the next play.
- Despite trailing early in the set by as much as 12-4, the Lions would come within five, 13-8, on a run that featured two kills from Akouri Tejedor.
- With the score 24-16, the home team continued fighting and scored the next eight points to knot the score, 24-24, including two aces from senior Alexa Morgan.
- The Lions led, 26-25, but attack errors doomed the team and helped AIC to the next three points to take a two-set lead.
- The Yellow Jackets scored six of the first eight points of the third set before rallying a streak of 10-straight to go in front, 17-4, which Molloy was unable to overcome.

- The Lions' offense was led by six kills from Meier while Doherty and Davis each added five.
- Akouri Tejedor racked up 12 digs and 12 assists to go with two service aces.
