West Haven, Conn. - The volleyball team stepped out of league play to face the Chargers of the University of New Haven, falling in three sets. Molloy now sits at 6-9 on the season while UNH improved to 10-5.

How it Happened

• The Lions opened the contest with three-straight points, but back-to-back runs from the Chargers put the home team in front, 9-5.
• Molloy was unable to come within two points, 10-8, in the first set.
• New Haven led open to close in the second set.
• Down 19-12, Molloy responded with five-straight points, including three aces from freshman Rebecca Meier, to come within two, 19-17.
• An ace from graduate student Emily Meyer and a kill from senior Graciela Cruz brought Molloy within one, 20-19, but UNH closed out the set with five unanswered points.
• The maroon and white attacked at a .074 clip in the final set in the loss.

Top Performances

• Sophomore Chye Davis led with eight kills. Cruz and junior Kathleen Doherty each added six.
• Senior Nicole Wagner tallied seven digs to pace Molloy, while Doherty added six.
• Sophomore Colleen Moulder put up three blocks while graduate student Kassie Akouri Tejedor recorded 17 assists and two aces.
• Meier's three aces led the squad.
