Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy volleyball team topped the Bridgeport Purple Knights in a five-set thriller Saturday afternoon at Quealey Gymnasium. The Lions improved to 7-9 overall and 2-2 in ECC play, while the Purple Knights fell to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

How it Happened
- In the first set, Bridgeport jumped out to a 9-4 lead.
- With the score 11-10, the Purple Knight recorded four straight points to increase their lead to 15-10.
- Down 22-18, the Lions scored five of the next six points to even the set, 23-23.
- The visitors tallied the next two points to secure the set.
- The teams traded the lead to begin the second stanza.
- With Bridgeport ahead 10-8, the Lions scored the next four points led by two kills from junior Kathleen Doherty.
- The away took an 18-14 lead.
- Down 21-18, Molloy went on a 6-1 rally to go up 24-22.
- After three consecutive points from UB, the Lions tallied three straight points led by two kills from sophomore Colleen Moulder.
