Bridgeport, Conn. – The Molloy men's soccer team defeated the Bridgeport Purple Knights, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Knights Field. The Lions improved to 3-3-1 overall and 2-0 in ECC play, while the Purple Knights fell to 1-3-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.

How it Happened

• Bridgeport outshot Molloy 6-1 in the opening half.
• Freshman Ollie Murch created a chance for the Lions in the 45^th minute.
• The match was scoreless at the break.
• In the 64^th minute, graduate student Peter Meyer had a try stopped.
• Senior Kenneth Garcia fired a shot into the back of the net to put the maroon and white ahead 1-0 in the 86^th minute.
• Graduate student Nick Conklu denied a header by Ozar Razo in the 87^th minute to keep the Molloy lead.

Top Performances

• Garcia tallied his first goal of the season, and the second of his career.
• Conklu made six saves for his second shutout of the season.
• Murch led the team with two shots.
