Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy men's basketball team topped the D'Youville Saints, 101-80, Saturday afternoon at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions improved to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in league play, while the Saints moved to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in ECC play.

• Senior Steven Torre hit back-to-back three-pointers to put Molloy ahead 6-0.
• With the game tied at 10, the home team went on an 11-3 run, led by seven points from freshman James Montgomery, to make it 21-13.
• Torres netted five straight points to extend the Lions' advantage to 42-29 with 5:58 left in the opening stanza.
• The maroon and white led 53-39 at the break.
• With a 61-53 lead, the Lions went on an 8-0 rally, sparked by six points from Montgomery, to increase their lead to 69-53.
• The Saints responded with seven straight points to make it 69-60.
• Freshman Darren Fergus hit a layup to give Molloy a 98-75 advantage en route to a 101-80 victory.

Top Performances

• Montgomery tallied a career-high 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
• Torre, who shot 6-of-9 from three, recorded 20 points.
• Redshirt senior Justin Caldwell scored 15 points to go along with eight rebounds, and Fergus added 13 points in the victory.
