Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - The men's basketball team fell to the Mavericks of Mercy College this afternoon at Victory Hall Gymnasium, 92-66. The Lions sit at 2-2 on the season and 2-2 in league play with the loss while Mercy improved to 1-3.

How it Happened

• A 15-3 run put the home team in front, 18-7, with 12 minutes remaining in the first half. 
• A three-pointer from junior Pierce Boczar brought Molloy within eight, but Mercy quickly re-established a 20-point lead, 35-15, on the back of four-straight three-pointers. 
• The Lions closed the half on three-straight triples from freshmen Kenny Lazo and Mick Browne and senior Steven Torre to trail, 45-35.
• The Mavericks opened the second frame with a 14-4 run to re-claim a 20-point advantage, 59-39. 
• The maroon and white were unable to cut the lead to less than 18, 69-51, before ultimately suffering the 92-66 defeat.

Top Performances

• Sophomore James Montgomery led the Lions with 17 points and two steals to go with five rebounds, one block, and one assist.
• Torre also reached double digits with 16 points while leading the team with six boards.
• Junior Frankie Phelan dished out three assists while freshman Darren Fergus added two steals.
