Orangeburg, N.Y. – The Molloy men's soccer team defeated the Dominican Chargers, 1-0, Tuesday afternoon at OMM Field. The Lions improved to 6-3-1, while the Chargers moved to 3-4-1.
How it Happened
- Graduate student Jesse Schleeper generated the Lions' first shot of the opening stanza in the 28th minute.
- The Chargers outshot the Lions 13-2 in the first frame, but the match was scoreless at the half.
- Sophomore Andrew Davila had an opportunity denied in the 48th minute.
- In the 65th minute, senior Kenneth Garcia picked up a loose ball in the box and scored to give Molloy a 1-0 lead.
- Graduate student Nick Conklu made saves in the 79th and 90th minutes to secure the victory for the maroon and white.
Top Performances
- Garcia tallied his second goal of the season and his second in the last four contests.
- Conklu made a season-high 11 saves for his fourth shutout of the season.
- Graduate student Peter Meyer led the team with four shots.
