Staten Island, N.Y. – The Molloy men's soccer team topped the College of Staten Island Dolphins, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Dolphin Soccer Park. The Lions improved to 9-6-2 overall and 5-2-1 in ECC play, while the Dolphins fell to 3-10-2 overall and 1-6-1 in conference play.
How it Happened
- The Lions generated two chances in the first three minutes of the match. In the second minute, graduate student Jesse Schleeper had a shot stopped and, then, senior Oscar Magnusson had his opportunity denied.
- Sophomore Danny Muir found the back of the net, on a pass from freshman Ollie Murch, to put the maroon and white up 1-0 in the 40th minute.
- Muir rang a try off the crossbar in the 45th minute.
- Molloy, which outshot CSI 7-4 in the first half, led 1-0 at the half.
- In the 78th minute, CSI looked to even the score, but graduate student Nick Conklu denied Samuel Gonzaga's chance.
- Conklu made another stop on Gonzaga in the 88th minute.

- Muir netted his first collegiate goal.
- Murch tallied his first career points.
- Schleeper led the team with nine shots, six on goal.
- Conklu made three saves for his fifth shutout of the season.
