Amherst, N.Y. - The volleyball team returned to East Coast Conference play this afternoon at Lumsden Gymnasium, falling to the first-place Daemen College Wildcats, 3-0. Molloy fell to 4-3 in ECC play and 9-11 on the season while Daemen improved to 15-7 on the year and 8-0 in league play.

How it Happened
- The Wildcats led by as much as 16-7 in the first set.
- Molloy responded by taking 12 of the next 15 points, including four kills from junior Graciela Cruz, to tie the contest, 19-19.
- The score would be tied twice more, 20-20 and 22-22, before the home team took the first set by dropping the final three points of the set.
- A six-point run put Daemen in front, 14-4.
- Molloy would come as close as six points before the Wildcats took a two set advantage.
- The maroon and white led, 5-3, early in the final set, before three-straight points from Daemen put the home team in front, 6-5.
- Daemen took 11 of 15 points later to go in front, 18-10, which Molloy was unable to overcome.
Top Performances
- Cruz topped the squad with nine kills while adding two blocks.
- Sophomore Colleen Moulder and freshman Rebecca Meier each also added two blocks, with Moulder adding five kills and Meier tallying five digs.
- Sophomore Kathleen Doherty led Molloy defensively with eight igs.
- Graduate student Kassie Akouri Tejedor recorded 20 assists.
