Sparkill, N.Y. - The men's basketball team fell to Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 93-67, this afternoon from Aquinas Hall. This is Molloy's first conference loss of the season, setting the Lions at 6-8 overall and 3-1 in the East Coast Conference.
How it Happened
- The Spartans opened the contest on a 13-0 run.
- Back-to-back three-pointers from senior Nick Corbett and junior Steven Torre cut the deficit to eight points, 22-14, with 12 minutes left in the opening half.
- The home team entered the locker room with a 59-29 advantage.
- The Lions outscored STAC in the second half, 38-34, but were unable to climb out of the early hole for the first league loss of the campaign.
Top Performances
- Corbett topped the team with 13 point and four assists.
- Redshirt junior Justin Caldwell added nine points to go with 13 rebounds.
- Torre and freshman James Montgomery also netted nine points while senior Josh Dennis added eight.
- Sophomore Colin Brady recorded two blocks while Montgomery and sophomore Pano Pavlidis each added two steals.
