Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The volleyball team swept Daemen College, the reigning East Coast Conference Champions, 3-0, to improve to 2-0 in league play and 10-3 on the season. The loss sets Daemen at 8-4 on the season and 0-1 in ECC play.

How it Happened

• The Wildcats opened the contest with a 5-2 lead before the Lions took the next six points to lead, 8-5. 
• Molloy would maintain its advantage the remainder of the set, eventually taking the 25-17 victory.
• After a back-and-forth start to the middle set, the maroon and white scored five unanswered points to take a 10-5 lead, which they would not relinquish the remainder of the set.
• The home team opened the final set on a 9-2 advantage,  hitting at a game-best .417 clip to take the set and match victory.

Top Performances

• Junior Kacey Affrunti and redshirt senior Carly Banks each tallied 11 kills for the Lions.
• Sophomore Nicole Wagner recorded two aces while senior Sophia Smith added one to go with 26 assists and six digs.
• Defensively, Molloy was led by 12 digs from senior Jessica Fischetti and four blocks from Affrunti.
