Men's Soccer Tops Bloomfield, 3-1

Bloomfield, N.J. – The Molloy men's soccer team topped the Bloomfield Bears, 3-1 , Saturday afternoon at Foley Field. The Lions improved to 2-1-1. The Bears fell to 1-3.

How it Happened
  • Junior Kenneth Garcia scored in the 13th minute to put Molloy ahead 1-0.
  • The Lions increased their lead to 2-0 in the 20th minute after senior Carlos Bonilla found the back of the net.
  • In the 67th minute, Joseph Vazquez cut the away team's advantage to 2-1.
  • The Bears had a chance to even the score in the 70th minute, but Nathan Reyes' try was denied by freshman Sergio Peralta.
  • Bonilla converted a penalty kick to increase Molloy's lead to 3-1 in the 87th minute.
Top Performances
  • Garcia tallied his first goal with the Lions.
  • Bonilla netted his first and second goals of 2019.
  • Peralta made three saves to improve to 2-0.
