Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The men's basketball team fell to #13 Daemen College, 89-75, this evening in Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions fell to 14-7 on the season and 10-2 in East Coast Conference play.
How it Happened
- Molloy led through the first three and a half minutes of play, leading 7-4 with 16:46 left in the first half.
- Daemen responded with a 13-2 run to take a 17-9 advantage with 12 minutes to play in the first half of action.
- The lead increased to double-digits following a three-pointer from Breon Harris. The Wildcats led by 20 points, 50-30, at the break.
- The maroon and white cut the deficit to 12 points, 59-47, with 12 minutes left to play.
- Down 65-51, the Lions responded with a 13-6 run to come within seven, 71-64, with six minutes on the clock.
- Daemen regained its double-digit advantage with 1:40 left on the clock, and despite coming within nine, 82-73, with 1:06 left to play, the Lions couldn't bridge the gap.
Top Performances
- Senior Curtis Jenkins led the team with 21 points, going 10-of-12 from the line, while adding five rebounds, four assists, one block, and a game-high four steals.
- Senior Mike Torre added 11 points and six rebounds while junior Nick Corbett added 10 points, four assists and five rebounds.
- Junior Josh Dennis topped the team with seven rebounds.
