Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy men's basketball team fell to the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks, 87-83, Sunday afternoon at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions moved to 14-8 overall and 10-3 in ECC play. The Redhawks improved to 11-9 overall and 7-5 in league play.

How it Happened

• Roberts Wesleyan jumped out to an early 8-2 lead.
• The Lions answered with a 10-0 run, led by five points from junior Nick Corbett, to go ahead 12-8.
• With Molloy up 18-15, the Redhawks tallied 12 consecutive points to take a 27-18 advantage.
• The visitors increased its lead to 45-30 with 1:42 left in the first stanza and led 45-31 at the break.
• Down 49-37, the Lions went on a 16-4 rally, led by 14 points from senior Mike Torre, to knot the score at 53.
• Roberts Wesleyan netted seven straight points to make it a 60-53 contest.
• The Lions made it a one-point game, 78-77, on a three-pointer from Corbett.
• Senior Curtis Jenkins tied the game, 78-78, with a free throw with 52 seconds left. 
• The away team used a 9-2 run to go up 87-80 on its way to an 87-83 victory.

Top Performances

• Corbett netted a game-high 25 points.
• Torre tallied 19 points and six rebounds.
• Jenkins recorded a double-double (17 points and 14 rebounds). The senior also registered five assists.
• Redshirt sophomore Justin Caldwell logged 13 points and five assists.

Looking Ahead

• The maroon and white concludes its three-game home stand Wednesday, February 13 against Bridgeport. Tip-off with the Purple Knights is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
