Garden City, N.Y. - The men's basketball team fell to the Panthers of Adelphi University, 91-64, this evening from the Center for Recreation and Sport The Lions fell to 5-6 on the season in the loss.
How it Happened
- After a closely contested opening 10 minutes of action, Adelphi went on a nine-point run to take a 33-18 lead with six minutes remaining in the opening half.
- The Lions were unable to put the deficit under double digits and entered the break trailing 44-44 after a layup from senior Josh Dennis and a three-pointer from sophomore Pierce Boczar.
- Midway through the second half, the Panthers took its largest lead of the contest, 73-43.Â
- The maroon and white would come within 20, 79-59, in the final six minutes but were unable to overcome the deficit.Â
Top Performances
- Molloy was led by 14 points and 10 rebounds from Dennis.
- Senior Nick Corbett and sophomore Colin Brady each tallied 12 points.
- Sophomore Pano Pavlidis led with four blocks while adding eight rebounds.
