Four Reach Double-Digits in Men's Basketball Win Over Queens, 82-70

Flushing, N.Y. - The men's basketball team picked up its second-straight win in East Coast Conference play in an 82-70 victory over Queens College. The Lions sit at 5-5 on the campaign and 2-0 in ECC play.

How it Happened
  • The maroon and white started the contest on a 13-3 run, not relinquishing its lead throughout the contest. 
  • The Knights would come within three points, 17-14, midway through the first half.
  • Back-to-back jumpers from redshirt junior Justin Caldwell gave the Lions its biggest lead of the contest, 33-19. The visitors would take a 41-28 lead into the break following a last-second layup from sophomore Frankie Phelan.
  • Queens opened the second half on a 12-4 run to come within five, 45-40. 
  • Molloy regained its double-digit lead after back-to-back three-pointers from senior Nick Corbett and sophomore William Muller. 
  • The home team would come within six with under 13 minutes to play, but the Lions closed out the final eight minutes of action with a double-digit advantage before securing the 82-70 victory.

Top Performances
  • Corbett led the Lions with 25 points, including shooting 6-of-10 from long distance. The guard added six boards, eight assists, and one steal.
  • Senior Josh Dennis added 15 points, shooting 50-percent from the field to go with three boards, three helpers, one steal, and one block.
  • Caldwell and junior Steven Torre each added 10 points in the effort while sophomore Pano Pavlidis putup a game-high eight rebounds and two blocks.
