Pleasantville, N.Y. - The men's basketball team snapped a three-game winning streak at Pace University this afternoon, falling to the Setters, 69-61. The Lions fell to 3-4 on the season in the loss.
How it Happened
- The maroon and white took a 16-4 lead to start the contest, including six points from redshirt junior Justin Caldwell.
- The Setters came within five, 20-15, with just under eight and a half minutes to play in the opening frame.
- A 10-2 run put Molloy back in front by double digits, 30-17, with six minutes left in the half.
- Pace would come within one before foul shots from Caldwell gave the Lions a three-point lead, 34-31, at the break.
- The score would be tied six times throughout the second half, including as late as 2:15 left to play, 60-60.
- The home team played the final two minutes without allowing a point from the Lions, taking the 69-61 victory.
Top Performances
- Caldwell and senior Josh Dennis each finished with 13 points, going 5-of-10 from the field. Senior Nick Corbett also netted 13 points while adding two steals.
- Sophomore Colin Brady added 10 points in the effort.
- Caldwell and Dennis each pulled down seven rebounds while Brady and Caldwell each recorded a block.
- Sophomore Frankie Phelan nabbed a career-high six steals to go with a team-high four assists.
