Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy men's soccer team defeated the Bridgeport Purple Knights, 2-1, in double overtime Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions improved to 10-5-1 overall and 4-3 in conference play, while the Purple Knights fell to 9-5-1 overall and 4-2-1 in league play.

How it Happened

• Bridgeport held a 7-4 advantage in shots in the first half, but the match was scoreless after 45 minutes of play.
• Senior Carlos Bonilla received a pass from senior Paul Morales, made a run up the field, and scored to put the Lions ahead 1-0 in the 70^th minute.
• The Purple Knights knotted the score, 1-1, on a goal from Jonas Schmelcher in the 82^nd minute.
• The match was even at the end of 90 minutes.
• Graduate student Nick Bigilin fired a shot over the net in the 98^th minute.
• In the 108^th minute, Morales finished a passing sequence with junior Oscar Magnusson and senior Anthony Cestaro to secure Molloy's 2-1 victory.
