Men's Basketball Edged by SNHU in OT, 87-83

Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - Despite 29 points from senior Nick Corbett, the men's basketball team fell in overtime to the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire, 87-83 to fall to 0-2 after the opening weekend of play.

How it Happened
  • Both Corbett and sophomore Pano Pavlidis were both in double figures after the opening half, combining for 9-of-18 shooting and four three-pointers.
  • A seven-point run, including a layup from sophomore William Muller, put the maroon and white in front, 20-10, with 11 minutes left in the half.
  • The Lions were forced to knot the score, 21-21, after an 11-0 run from the Penmen.
  • Tied at 37, a free throw from junior Steven Torre gave Molloy the one-point advantage, 38-37, at the break.
  • SNHU took a six-point lead, 57-51, midway though the second half of action.
  • The score would be tied five times down the stretch before a foul shot from Pavlidis with two seconds remaining forced an overtime with the score knotted at 73.
  • Corbett netted eight points, including 3-of-3 in the extra five minutes, but aside from a layup from senior Josh Dennis, the Molloy offense was quiet, giving SNHU the 87-83 victory.

Top Performances
